TV SCHEDULING

During the day, all the channels have scheduled times and segments for different viewers.
In the morning, the majority of programmes have children television programmes, and also breakfast shows.

It then goes to day time television which can be a lot of things because of the potential viewers. For example, Pregnant women, unemployed, sick and elderly people. So shows to suit most of these people are shown, for example, Doctors, Open Gardens, Animal Park, Inspector Morse, Desperate Housewives, and Neighbours.

It then goes onto prime time television. This is the time that all the families are together and watch television together. For example, The One Show, Eastenders, Emmerdale, The Simpsons and Home And Away. These are programmes that are suitable for all ages.

After Primetime televison, the majority of channels then show the evening news. This is because children will be going to be round abouts now, and after the news comes the adult viewing television.

Adult viewing goes on from between 9-10pm onwards and contains Adult rated films, programmes and documentaries. For example, 'On Deadly Ground', is a film about war and destruction and is unsuitable for younger viewers.
